Guided by Curiosity

Throughout life, we are learning. We learn how to walk and talk before we start school. We then enter the formal education years of our lives, where we study various subjects. After we complete our schooling, we encounter new experiences where lessons come to us in new ways.

Every aspect of life provides the chance for new learning. The uniqueness of our circumstances offers lessons tailor-made for each individual. We should embrace these opportunities since a day does not exist where we can proclaim to know everything. Instead of stagnating after completing your schooling, seek to acquire as much knowledge as you can about your life.

Much of the knowledge that we gain we attain through exposure to stimuli. Many of us know that the stove is hot because we touched it. While some learn through reading, others find listening to audiobooks or lectures to be more efficient. Our curiosity can drive us to learn many valuable lessons via trial and error.

The various methods of learning all feed our creativity in ways that are not obvious at first. We gravitate towards music after hearing certain sounds for the first time. Some get a passion for painting and drawing from wanting to recreate the things that they experience. Others turn to architecture because of curiosity about what is possible.

The idea for this blog came from learning something about myself. I've been reading a lot of books since the COVID-19 pandemic started. From my reading, I learned to only take from books what I find relevant to me. From one of the books, I realized that the best way to remember names is to use them. This advice works best with unique names because of the curiosity that we have for their origins. Another piece of advice that I picked up is that the fastest way to learn something is to teach it.

While my goal is not to teach, I aim to share the lessons I have learned. I want to share this information because curiosity led me to read the first book, and that curiosity has guided me since. So far, each book that I have read has targeted a different aspect of my personality. As I learn and grow, I also seek out further knowledge. I hope that sharing my path motivates others to seek out theirs.

In the future, I would like to shift to a more conversational format. I believe that the change will enhance the learning of the group. I will not be going into detail on that today since this is a topic that I will touch on more in the future. I am excited to see the results that we realize when we all put our minds together.

I am glad that you noticed that. I think that I ended up pushing the tone that I got from the book. The next several posts will probably follow a similar format. I am sticking to only planning the main idea behind the posts and letting the rest be free flowing.

It's funny that you stated that you were changing up the format. While reading, I was like it's more of "a matter of fact" type of post. I agree that curiosity can guide a person. An issue is that I have came across is that I must place blinders on to focus on that which I was curious about the day prior.
